Welcome Leopold!
Leopold has joined the CAVS group in February 2023. During his MSc, he focussed on analytical chemistry, theoretical chemistry, and high-performance computing. He brings three years of experience working as a software developer, having created GUIs, DAQ systems, and control firmware for IR spectrometers at his previous company.
At CAVS, he will start a PhD and continue to work on IR spectroscopy and data science to develop new ways of non-destructive chemical sensing and process control.
“I remember my first chemistry lecture when we were cautioned against Maslow’s Hammer: If you have no other tools, every problem looks like a nail.
Here at CAVS, every member brings a varied and rich set of tools, so we can find solutions that are both innovative and elegant.”
